- Hi.
-
- I am experiencing problems with my Microcom 28.8P when connecting to my Internet service provider from
- home.
-
- I use the serial connection and have a good phone line which allows me to connect at 28K each time - but
- unfortunately I loose the connection repeatedly after some random delay. I have to dial in repeatedly,
- but eventually after about 3 to 6 redials, the connection becomes stable and I can stay on the line as
- long as I wish.
-
- I reported this problem to the service provider, who mentioned that this was apparently quite a common
- problem with these modems. They reacon the problem is that the modem is not capable of functioning
- properly at 28K (the processor may be to slow).
-
- Shurely this can't be true?
-
- Funny enough, I can dial in to the Microsoft Network at 28K without a problem.
-
- I just wondered, have you perhaps experienced a similar problem?
- If not, and you do use a Microcom 28.8P, what initialization string do you use?
-
-
- Greetings
